The Trend Radar vocabulary

Rising, hot, fading, noise. A short vocabulary the TrendRise team uses to describe where a signal sits — and why it matters for what you ship next.

Naming things matters. Inside TrendRise we use four words to describe where a signal sits, and we try not to use any others.

Rising, hot, fading, noise

  • Rising — real audience, still forming language
  • Hot — named, crowded, premium pricing window closing
  • Fading — still generating searches but losing creator energy
  • Noise — looks like a trend, isn't

Most builders are most useful in 'rising' — and most tempted by 'hot'.

Why the words help

When the team disagrees about an opportunity, we don't argue about whether it's 'big' — we argue about which of the four buckets it's in. That argument is faster, and the answer changes what we ship.
